PROBLEM

Canadian Tire is Canada's leading Christmas store, but in recent years they'd noticed that Christmas spirit was fading – it was losing the magic that made it so special, and they were losing the consumer awareness that made them #1. Canadian Tire needed a way to re-ignite the excitement and wonder of Christmas in the minds of consumers.

SOLUTION

Using online Christmas spirit, we created a magical, tangible, real-world Christmas experience. The first Christmas tree powered by Christmas spirit.

RESULTS

The campaign earned 20 million impressions in just over 2 weeks, thanks to local, national and international coverage. Christmas well wishers spent a total of 1.8 million minutes on the website, sending christmas cheer and interacting the tree. The two week campaign drove over half a million dollars in direct sales as a result of street teams present at the location.
